While a longstanding proponent of (often free) digital content, Dark Horse is really starting to mingle at the mobile comics party with the recent release of two of its flagship properties onto Apple's iPhone.

Mike Mignola's "Hellboy: Seed of Destruction" storyline along with Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's "Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite" are now available for download via iTunes. The kicker? UA:AS #1 is free.

The debut story arcs from each series are available in single issue format or as bundles (think digital trades). Single issues are $0.99 a piece while the 6-issue UA bundle goes for $4.99 and the 4-issue HB bundle runs $3.99.Purists might still want to hold trade paperbacks in their hands, but readers-in-transit will probably dig the mobile format's price point, which is a little less than half the cost of its printed counterpart.

Would I enjoy an all-digital collection of the complete "Hellboy?" The answer is yes, because, given the series' girth, that's the only way I could afford it at this point. You getting this Dark Horse?
