This past weekend was the ComicsPRO meeting, an annual conference that sees retailers and publishers gather to discuss issues affecting the comic industry, among other topics. Some publishers use the meeting as an opportunity to make a few announcement to the crowd, and this year was no different. We've already covered one announcement and shown you an exclusive piece of art that debuted at the show, and now we have more news, as BOOM Studios has shared with us their reveal to attendees that Herobear and the Kid, the Eisner Award winning children's comic from creator Mike Kunkel, is returning via the publisher's KaBOOM! kids imprint.

BOOM! Studios has provided ComicsAlliance with a video featuring Kunkel drawing while discussing his love of being a cartoonist, plus a look at a Herobear and the Kid print created by Kunkel, which BOOM! will be handing out exclusively at this coming weekend's Emerald City Comicon in Seattle.

Herobear and the Kid is the story of Tyler, a young child whose life changes forever when he's given a stuffed toy bear that magically changes into a superhero. Created, written and drawn by Kunkel, a former Disney animator, the comic won an Eisner Award in 2002 and 2003.

Here's a look at the exclusive Emerald City Comic Con print by Kunkel:
