I've said this before, but once I hit 30, I was pretty much ready to give up on being into Green Lantern. I mean, I feel like if it's going to happen, it's got to be before then, right? Especially when you consider that I've liked pretty much everything I like since about 1994. But that was before Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz were headlining Green Lanterns.

Thanks in no small part to innovative ideas, engaging personalities, and a character dynamic that plays on the two main characters' personality flaws, addressing them and showing the two Green Lanterns working to overcome them, Green Lanterns has been one of my favorite titles of DC's Rebirth era so far. Now, in this week's issue, we get to see those two new characters take on a classic Green Lantern foe: the malevolently magnetic Dr. Polaris. Check out a preview below!

You know, it's pretty weird how whenever someone announces that they're about to conquer Death Itself, it never actually works out for the best. It always ends up being something about shattering one's soul into seven pieces through murders, or I dunno, using magnets to turn the Earth inside out. You never see someone on a stage shaking their fist at the stodgy academics who mocked them, vowing to show them, show them all, and then, like, submitting a new multivitamin to the FDA.

But then again, nobody wants to read about a couple of Green Lanterns trying to figure out if this pill really has 500% of your RDA of Vitamin D.
