Judge Dredd
fans have a lot to look forward to this fall. The live action Dredd 3D opens September 21, IDW's new Judge Dredd ongoing comic series at IDW by Duane Swierczynski and Nelson Daniel debuts in November and, as announced today, IDW will also be releasing creator-centric JD hardcovers beginning with Judge Dredd: The Complete Brian Bolland, a black-and-white edition showcasing Boland's signature take on the icon as they originally appeared in Great Britain's 2000 AD. What's More, beginning in the spring IDW will begin releasing classic Judge Dredd stories by Bolland, co-creator Carlos Ezquerra and others with new colors by Charlie Kirchoff. That's an awfully bright future for such a grim dude."Fans have been very vocal to us about wanting to first see Bolland's amazing pages in pristine black-and-white," said IDW's Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief and Judge Dredd editor Chris Ryall in IDW's official press release, "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimate Collections presented the original Eastman/Laird stories in gorgeous black and white, and that's what fans have told us they'd like to see here at the start, too. We're happy to give them what they want, especially since Brian Bolland's art is so stunning even without color."

If that's not enough Dredd, the publisher also has plans for Treasury Edition-sized comics as well, although the full details on those are still forthcoming.
