Marvel’s The Inhumans TV series is arriving faster than we realize, and its IMAX debut will set a director to match. As production gears up for a September release, Marvel has officially set feature director Roel Reine to helm the first two big-screen episodes of the adapted property.

The Hollywood Reporter explains that The Man with the Iron Fists 2 director will helm the first two theatrical installments of the eight-episode TV series, which will hit IMAX theaters Labor Day weekend before moving the full series to ABC. Reine garnered “the Dutch equivalent to an Oscar” for directing The Delivery, and has previously worked for TV directing an episode of Starz’s Black Sails.

Thus far of Marvel’s The Inhumans, we know that Iron Fist and Dexter alum Scott Buck will helm The Inhumans for Marvel and ABC, which has already set a September IMAX premiere for its first two episodes. No casting has yet taken place (certainly not for Vin Diesel), nor has Marvel clarified what, if any relationship The Inhumans will have to other MCU TV series, or the still-possible Inhumans film.

We’ll likely hear about Inhumans casting before long, but are all those IMAX moon sequences in good hands?
