Riri Williams AKA Ironheart has been a big breakout star for Marvel Comics in the past year, but very few people would have expected a live-action treatment so soon. While she's not showing up in Avengers: Infinity War, she made the leap to the real-world in a fan-film produced by students attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as part of its annual "Pi Day" celebrations, welcoming new students to the college.

Pi Day --- or March 14 (3.14, get it?) --- is traditionally the day that MIT lets prospective attendees know if they have a place at the institution, and as of 2012 has published those decisions privately at 6:28 pm, representing Pi's rival number Tau (6.28). In recent years, MIT students have produced Pi Day short videos, but this year's goes all out as a stunning short feature showcasing class of 2018 member Ayomide F. as Marvel's newest superhero..

Riri Williams first debuted in Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato's Invincible Iron Man #7 as a curious 15 year old attending MIT who went on to build her own suit of Iron Man armor. After catching the attention of Tony Stark, he took her under his wing and following his "death" at the end of Civil War II, gifted her with a new suit of Iron Man armor as she struck out on her own in the pages of Bendis and Stefano Caselli's new volume of Invincible Iron Man.

What the video doesn't mention, is that Riri Williams got in a lot of trouble from MIT for creating her initial Iron Man armor, so it might not be the best idea to start work on one if you get in.
