James Callahan, who operates under the rather appropriate moniker Barf Comics, likes his puke. He also likes his blood, his exploded bits of brains and flesh, and zombie-like creatures. But his gory, neon-bright illustrations have a wicked sense of humor that makes them perfect for skateboard decks.

And Callahan has loaned his artwork to plenty of skateboard and snowboarding companies, plus apparel companies like OBEY, Disturbia and Beautiful/Decay. But his hyperactive style is a perfect match for the unhinged excesses of the Rick Spears-authored comic The Auteur, due out from Oni in spring 2014. (You can read our interrogation of Spears here.) It looks like it's going to be a trip.

You can follow Callahan on his blog or through Flickr.
