The casting decisions for "Green Lantern" continue to surprise me. I would never have pegged Ryan Reynolds for Hal Jordan, though the idea has certainly grown on me in the months since the initial announcement. I'm less enthusiastic about Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, but then again, I'm very excited about Mark Strong as Sinestro and I'll take Peter Sarsgaard in anything.

And then there was Jango Fett.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Temuera Morrison - who played Fett and his resulting clones in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy - has joined the cast of "Green Lantern" as Abin Sur. I know it's not a role with a lot of screen time, but there's no arguing that Abin Sur is a critical character in this story, and I'm really not sure that Morrison has the acting chops to pull it off. For now, I'm unimpressed with the choice.

Morrison isn't the only new cast member, as Taika Waititi has also been cast in the role of "the best friend of Hal Jordan." It's very likely that he's playing Thomas Kalmaku, but without an official name attached to the character, we'll just have to settle on calling him "the best friend of Hal Jordan" until we're told otherwise.[Source: The Hollywood Reporter]
