One of my absolute favorite things about comics over the past couple of years has been DC's digital-first release of Jiro Kuwata's Batman manga. Getting those stories in English, many of them for the first time ever, has been both super fun and incredibly fascinating, looking at how Kuwata approached adapting stories for a different audience and a different format. And, you know, it also had Batman throwing down with both a pro wrestler and a gorilla, so it's not much of a stretch to say that it's pretty close to being the perfect comic.

The only downside was that there was always going to be a finite number of stories, and it looks like we've reached the end of the line. Next week, DC will begin the final two-part story that Kuwata created for Shonen King, and he's going out as wild as he can with a tale of the Dynamic Duo being kidnapped by aliens. Check out an exclusive preview below --- and don't forget to read right to left!

DC's official description of the story is as follows:

Batman: The Jiro Kuwata Batmanga #52
Writer/Artist: Jiro Kuwata
Batman and Robin are completely out of their comfort zone when some visiting aliens whisk them away to another planet. How will they survive?

The story will be available on Saturday at all digital outlets, including Comixology and ReadDCEntertainment.com. If you're waiting for a print version, though, the story will be the final entry in the third paperback collection of Kuwata's Batman work, set for release next February.
