Gritty, textured inking and horror comics go together like blood capsules and candy on Halloween, and Kyle Strahm is the kind of artist who knows how to make some delicious monsters. Strahm has done his fair share of comic book work for titles such as Tim Seeley's Hack/Slash and Claudio Sanchez's Amory Wars, but the heft of his sketch work is considerable as well.Over on KyleStrahm.com, you can see some gruesome oddities, including Cenobites, an Alien in a Mr. T mask and an immaculately disgusting pinup of Chris Burnham's character Officer Downe. Strahm draws these freaks with a thick, scratchy, full-bodied touch similar to Darick Robertson over very tight, controlled figures.

If you love artists who tend to pack ultra-dense masses of detail into small spaces, check out Strahm's work. Not only will you find that he draws a mean Big Daddy; you'll also discover that he sketches a fine Captain Picard.
