In Legend #4, a group of dogs and cats come upon a human in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, but things don't go as you'd expect. At least not if you haven't been reading this comic.

The human, it seems, isn't truly human at all. He's a zombie-like creature know as a Stenchless. The animals, meanwhile, are intelligent and communicative, strategizing in how to deal with the creature and even using weapons.

This is the world of Legend, a series from Z2 Comics, written by Samuel Sattin, with art by Chris Koehler. With most of humanity gone or infected, our former pets are fighting for the future. "Legend" is the name of the new leader of the Dog Tribe, taking his band on a search for the creature that killed his predecessor.

It's a very different take on an apocalypse story, and that makes it stand out from the pack. Check out the preview below:
