Though it won't air on television until this Friday, Nickelodeon posted the finale to The Legend Of Korra Book 2: "Spirits" online over the weekend, which means that it's already been widely discussed on the internet. It also means that series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are likely a bit more comfortable publicly discussing some aspects of the season's conclusion, as well as the title for the upcoming Book 3, which was revealed today.

If you haven't already seen the finale, fair warning: there are significant spoilers after the cut.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal's "Speakeasy" blog, DiMartino and Konietzko revealed that Book 3 will be titled "Changes." Given the events of the Book 2 finale, it's easy to see why. Following her defeat of Unalaq and Vaatu, Korra makes a decision that significantly changes the status quo. Her choice means there will be some necessary adjusting, both for the Avatar and the world at large. DiMartino spoke about the direction for next season:

“The title of Book 3 is going to be called ‘Change'. It’s all about Korra dealing with the change of the world in this point in time. At the end of Book 2 she says it’s a new era. And it really is and we’re going to show how Harmonic Convergence and her battle with Unalaq and Vaatu kind of shifted the world a bit.”

No word yet on when The Legend of Korra Book 3 begins.
