As a big fan of the Canadian indie rock back Metric who had "Gold Guns Girls" on repeat for much of 2009, I was psyched to hear that the band has a track on the upcoming "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" movie soundtrack -- the previously unreleased "Black Sheep."

Music plays a central role in the "Scott Pilgrim" series, where much of the story involves indie music culture and Scott's band Sex Bob-Omb. Major plot points revolve around their practices, performances, and attempts at cutting an album, and creator Bryan Lee O'Malley even managed to integrate actual guitar chords from one of their songs into the pages of the comic.

The Metric announcement is yet more news that indicates awesome times ahead for the "Scott Pilgrim" movie in general, and its musical landscape in particular. They've posted the full track for free on the Metric Facebook page, or take a listen to a live version of the track at the 2007 Virgin Festival after the jump.
