Having clocked my share of frequent flyer miles form the cheap seats of [insert domestic airline here] over the past few months, I can say with the utmost confidence that the chance to purchase an exclusive Gundam model kit at 30,000 feet would have soothed my weary traveling soul a bit. Unfortunately, like all the best toy-related sources of fleeting joy, that pleasure belongs solely to Japan's All Nippon Airways.

As reported by Anime News Network, ANA's undertaking a special "ANA x Gundam Jet Project" that will hock an exclusive Gundam model kit and don one lucky Boeing 777-300 jumbo jet with a reclining RX-78-2 (oriented just like in the White Base). The promotion is part of Bandai's continued 30th anniversary celebration of the very first Gundam model kit, which has spawned a flurry of other promotions and at least one enterprising recycling method for its runners.

The decorated jet will kick off its flying thing following a special ceremony on July 16, but fans flying ANA can get their hands on the event's exclusive model kit can get their hands on one from July 1 through Aug. 31. If you take to the skies via ANA's domestic flights this summer, think of me, eh?
