Marvel’s Jessica Jones finally lifted the veil on its second Netflix Defender by the first trailer, though Doctor Who star David Tennant’s menacing Zebediah Kilgrave kept largely to the shadows. Now, the so-called “Purple Man” literally takes center stage in a new photo, along with a revised Netflix synopsis.

Netflix released the new image as their streaming portal’s Jessica Jones landing page, though it isn’t clear if the image represents an actual still, or rather some stylized key art. The purple shading certainly fits, but why would key art spotlight Kilgrave onstage with a microphone, and what might we really be seeing?

Along with the photo, so reads Jessica Jones’ new synopsis:

Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen.

So reads Marvel’s original Jessica Jones synopsis:

After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.

We’ll  have more from Marvel’s Jessica Jones soon, but take in the latest photos and teasers below, and stay tuned for the latest on the November 20 premiere!
