New ‘Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!!’ Screens Showcase Combat In The Land Of Ooo

It's no stretch to say that the upcoming Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! is probably the ComicsAlliance staff's most anticipated game of the fall, narrowly edging out the Revolutionary War stabfest that will be Assassin's Creed III. It's definitely true for me, and it's not just the fact that I love the Adventure Time cartoon and comics that's got me so excited -- every new piece of information about this game makes it look more and more awesome.

Case in point, a new set of screenshots that were just released, revealing BMO's starring role as the bottom screen of your DS or 3DS, and a set of characters that includes the Housies, a decidedly hobo-esque Lumpy Space Princess, and a bear with a chainsaw taped to its back. Check 'em out after the cut!

From the looks of things, AT:HIK!WYSOG?!! is set to boast an interesting mix of gameplay styles, from the main side-scrolling action to what looks like a Zelda-style overworld. It's pretty cool to see how Finn and Jake interact in the shots above, too, whether it's Finn using Jake as a shield or relying on his shape-shifting powers to stretch over chasms. It looks like there might be a touch of A Boy And His Blob style gameplay, which is sure to delight 30 year-old fans along with the game's actual target audience of 10 year-olds.

The only problem I can see so far is that it looks like most of the game will be played while BMO stares at you from the touchscreen, and after "BMO Noir," that might get pretty creepy. We'll see how it all shakes out when the game hits shelves on November 20.
