New ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Minimates Images Show Off Movie Looks
Art Asylum’s been revealing its share of Minimates this week at Toy Fair, but so far its upcoming Thor offerings have overshadowed their Captain America: The First Avenger images in the Marvel movie department. Thor’s got a lot more Avenger-y company now that The Big Bad Toy Store has posted a preorder for Marvel Minimates Series 40, which combined with the army builder assortment full of Hydra baddies Art Asylum posted earlier this month brings the total Cap line to an even dozen toys so far. The biggest reveal in the bunch? Bucky’s full movie look, which seems like a nice compromise between something a “real world” soldier might’ve worn during WWII and his classic comic book costume.
With the Captain America: The First Avenger Super Bowl trailer more than a week old now, fans have finally gotten a decent (if super quick) look at Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull, so the villain’s silhouetted absence in these images shouldn’t be too much of a bummer for fans.
Update: Red Skull has popped up at Blastr, peep the image below to fill in the gap.
In the meantime, it’s nice to see Cap’s supporting cast (Peggy Carter and Howard Stark) and assorted punching bags striking a blocky pose.
