New ‘DC Universe Online’ Videos Show Off City Skylines and Street Level Beatdowns [Video]

Despite being delayed from this November to early 2011, Sony's "DC Universe Online" MMORPG is trucking along with promotional teasers showcasing the ins-and-outs of its virtual world and the battles yet to be waged (by non Beta testers) within. For example, in two new videos fans can now catch a wider view of the game's version of Metropolis and check out a sprawling multiplayer brawl up close and personal.DCUO's "Metropolis Fly Through" revisits a few locations that have been previously featured, but manages to provide several new shots of Superman's home town in a way that boasts the sheer scale of the city. Its multiple neighborhoods vary the way a huge city should, with well-kept business districts and more seedy industrial sides of town demonstrating particularly different vibes.

The second new video favors pure action to world-building, with scads of super types beating the pixels out of each other. Characters vary from plainclothes bruisers to more traditionally costumed heroes and villains wielding numerous powers and weapons. There's armored suits, energy blasts, fire, ice, speedsters, threatening-looking vegetation and anthropomorphic beasts in loin cloths punching things. All in all, not a bad way to spend a minute and a half.
