Nickelodeon delivered a pretty hearty first look at its upcoming CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con International, debuting new clips of the green brothers battling Utroms and lovingly bickering among themselves. That's all well and good, but what everyone was really waiting to hear was the show's new theme song. As it turns out, the new tune acts as something of an homage to the 1987-1996 cartoon musically, and Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's original comic series visually. Some may have mixed feelings about the reimagined song's infusion of rap, but I think it's pretty tasteful and will appeal to kids, although I admit I consider mild obnoxiousness a hallmark of the franchise's multiple incarnations. Compared to what fans heard on The Next Mutation or the "Coming Out of Their Shells" Tour, this new song is practically divine poetry. See what you think after the jump.
