NYCC Exclusive ‘ThunderCats’ Minimates Box Set Rounds Up The Mutants

Action Figure Xpress focused on core heroes and villains in its first ThunderCats Minimates box set at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, but the line's second assembly of TCats characters is all about the mutants. The New York Comic Con exclusive Thundercats Classic Minimates Series 2 Box Set will be available October 11-14 at the AFX booth (#556) for $19.99 and include Mumm-Ra's mutant crew of Slithe, Jackalman, Monkian, Vultureman and a PVC Wolfrat.We got an early look at versions of the figures this past summer during SDCC, along with an upcoming third box set that will include Cheetara, Tygra, WilyKit, WilyKat and one of the Robear Berbils. These are all based on the classic TCats animated series, of course, but fans who are bummed about the almost certain cancelation of Cartoon Network's recent reboot and Bandai's associated toy line have a relatively affordable option for continued ThunderCattery in their lives if they choose to partake.

For those who can't make NYCC, it's likely AFX will continue its tradition of making unsold box sets available at its official web site afterward.
