Press Release

Chris Pitzer and AdHouse Books will sponsor the appearances of acclaimed THB creator Paul Pope and high-profile Fables cover artist James Jean at Baltimore Comic-Con, September 8-9, 2007 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Dan DiDio, Senior Vice-President and Executive Editor of DC Comics, will also attend the show. The convention has also added up acclaimed painter Joe Jusko (Tomb Raider), extraordinary cartoonist Rich Koslowski (The King), Mouse Guard creator David Petersen, Marvel Comics writer – editor C.B. Cebulski, and Desperadoes: Epidemic penciller – inker John Lucas in the line-up.

"We are doing our best to make this show a 'must' for anyone who's serious about comics," said the show's promoter, Marc Nathan. "This great slate of guests we're announcing this week would be enough to build an entire other show around, but we're not done yet!"

These new creators join a roster already headed up by Guest of Honor Mike Mignola (Hellboy) with Jim Lee (Batman, Wildcats), David Finch (Moon Knight, New Avengers), John Romita, Sr. (Amazing Spider-Man, sponsored by the Hero Initiative), Al Feldstein (former editor of MAD), Frank Cho (Mighty Avengers), and a stellar group of other writers, artists and industry personnel.

These guests will join publishers, studios and service organizations including The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, DC Comics, Gemstone Publishing, The Hero Initiative, Image Comics, Insight Studios Group, The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Top Cow Productions, and Top Shelf Productions. A significant number of the top retailers in the comic industry will set up with a selection ranging from the oldest known American comics to the most recent.

The show has already announced one of its convention exclusives, a sketch variant cover of World War Hulk #3, with cover artist David Finch on hand to sign it. Others will be announced shortly.

There will also be exclusives offered to convention guests who choose to attend the Harvey Awards, which will be hosted by the Baltimore Comic-Con for the second year in a row. As with last year's Harveys, the September 8 awards dinner and ceremony will feature writer-artist Kyle Baker (Why I Hate Saturn) as Master of Ceremonies.
