Get Ready For A New ‘Powerpuff Girls’ Special On January 20
I've got good news, bad news and strange news. Which do you guys want first?
The good? OK. A new CGI-ish Powerpuff Girls special, titled "Dance Pantsed," will debut on Cartoon Network January 20 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. The bad news is that show creator Craig McCracken doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. The strange news: It will prominently feature former Beatle Ringo Starr.
Starr will voice "flamboyant mathemetician Fibonacci Sequins" and debut a new song, "I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl," on the special.
Here's CN's full description of the special:
In "Dance Pantsed," why is Mojo Jojo kidnapping a mathematician, an opera singer and a badger? To steal Chemical X, of course, and to finally take over Townsville. But when the Powerpuff Girls thwart his plan, he invents an evil video game called “Dance Pants R-EVILution” to control their minds and bodies to fulfill his evil plot! The Professor must visit his dark dancing past to save his girls so they can save all of Townsville!
The special, directed by Flintstones: On the Rocks' Dave Smith, has apparently been sitting on a shelf for some time.
While they wait for the special to hit their TVs, Powerpuff Girls fans can get their fix with IDW's new comic series, which released its fourth issue last week.
