As some of you may have noticed, we've been thinking a lot about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lately. I mean, if we're honest here, we think about the TMNT a lot pretty much all the time, but it seems like every time we turn around in the past few weeks, there's something new and awesome going on with the Heroes in a Half Shell.

Case in point: A new take on the Turtles by one of our favorite artists, Ramon Villalobos. Check out his awesome, video game-inspired designs below! For his Turtles, Villalobos based their poses on the classic TMNT video game character select screen...

...and even put his versions together in an animated version. I think it's safe to say that I'd probably still go with Donatello, even though I'd want to pick Michaelangelo:

Sorry, Mikey, but in the world of a 2D beat-'em-up, the reach of a bo staff trumps the radness of nunchuks.

Here's a better look at Villalobos's versions, which include some awesome details. Donatello's built-in glasses and Raph's hipstery belt are pretty great, but I'd be lying if I said that my favorite part wasn't Michaelangelo wearing beat up Chuck Taylors. Because of course he is.
