Archie's reboot titles have been firing on all cylinders from right out of the gate, largely in part to the publisher's adept hand at selecting top quality creators to update and rethink some of the most iconic characters in comics. That trend is set to continue this September as The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl's Ryan North and Trip Fantastic's Derek Charm take over creative duties for Riverdale's hungriest citizen with Jughead #9.

Announced today in an interview with The Daily Dot, North and Charm take over from the outgoing team of Chip Zdarsky and North's Squirrel Girl collaborator Erica Henderson, although Charm will be debuting slightly earlier, as he's the guest-penciller on Jughead #7. In North's interview, he talks about the similarities between writing Doreen Green and Jughead Jones, and confirms that as a fan of the previous run, he'll be following Zdarsky and Henderson's vision for Jughead closely.

So far the new Archie continuity has eschewed some of the more fantastical elements associated with previous incarnations, but that's all set to change as North and Charm are bringing in none other than Sabrina The Teenage Witch as a supporting character for Jughead. Unlike the previous issues of Jughead, which have seen our leading man embrace some of the weirdest aspects of Archie Comics in dream sequences, North has confirmed that Sabrina will be, and I quote, "literally magic".

Check out the full interview, plus variant covers from Audrey Mok and Veronica Fish, over at The Daily DotJughead #9 will be released September 7th.
