Marvel Comics celebrated the fairer sex of the publishing industry during Comic-Con's Sunday "Women of Marvel Comics" panel by leading with the news that Eisner Award-winning colorist Laura Martin has joined the ranks of its exclusive talent.

Martin's full body of work includes coloring for DC Comics, CrossGen and of course Marvel, where she recently brought her skills to bear on last summer's "Secret Invasion" titles, "Thor," Stephen King's "The Stand Adaptation" and "The Ultimates."

At one point in the panel the colorist joked that she hoped Marvel wouldn't be printing too many comics in black and white, but despite the ongoing popularity of manga and crime noir comics, something tells me her caliber of work ensures many full-color titles to come.

Fans can expect plenty from Martin in the future including October's "Wolverine Art Appreciation."
