Spoiler alert for a two-year-old movie and 50-year-old comic: Captain America got preserved in ice near the end of World War II and revived decades later. In comics, we've seen a lot of what happened to the characters Steve Rogers left behind in the 1940s, but what about the movie version Captain America: The First Avenger? Marvel will answer that question, at least in part, with a new short film about actress Hayley Atwell's Agent Peggy Carter -- a "one-shot" if you will -- that will premiere at Comic-Con International next week and be included in the new Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray.

Louis D'Esposito, who also directed the Item 47 short film that debuted at last year's Comic-Con, directed Agent Carter as well. The film takes place about a year after Captain America plunged into the icy deep, and follows Carter's exploits with SSR, the precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D. Specifically, Carter's looking for Zodiac, an item that D'Esposito told Entertainment Weekly is "deadly, it’s important, bad guys are guarding it, and it’s imperative she gets it."

This is the fourth "one-shot" film Marvel Studios has released. In addition to Item 47, the studio has also featured Agent Coulson, star of the soon-to-premiere Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, in two short films.
