If the world was short on Wonder Woman collectibles in the past, that soon won't be an issue any longer. Since the cinematic debut of the Amazonian warrior princess in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman has been a big part of collectible lines from a number of companies like Mattel, DC Collectibles, and Sideshow Collectibles. It's not that Diana wasn't getting any attention in the past, but her percentages compared to Batman and Superman have surely improved over the past year.

2017 should be even better for Wonder Woman, what with her own movie coming out and all, but there are still some folks making up ground on her arrival last year. Such is the case with the new Premium Format Figure from Sideshow, which shows Wonder Woman readying for battle against Doomsday at the conclusion of Batman V Superman.

Though a statue based on her upcoming appearance in Wonder Woman might make a bit more sense from a timeliness standpoint, it's not surprising to see more Batman V Superman collectibles still arriving. It takes time to get approvals for all these things; it takes time to sculpt them; and it takes time to ensure the production lines are open enough to satisfy the creation of new goods. Taking the time to deliver a product that stands out from the rest doesn't hurt either, as this statue can attest.

I love the stance, as the pose offers so much insight into Wonder Woman's personality. She's ready for combat, but the sword is in a lowered position rather than high above her head, giving the impression she's on the defensive instead of the attack. That's the kind of Wonder Woman I love --- the one that's ready to jump into danger to stop someone from being hurt. To drive that sentiment further, the Sideshow-exclusive version comes with an alternate left arm holding her shield. You don't have to have seen the film to appreciate that in this moment, Wonder Woman is here to protect you.

The rest of sculpt is sharp, as there are lots of details throughout that capture the silver screen version of Wonder Woman nearly perfectly. The head sculpt isn't quite 100% Gal Gadot, but it's very close. The features could stand to be a little sharper, as Gadot's face doesn't have quite as soft a structure as this head sculpt portrays. The eyes and nose are just about spot on though, so sculpt is really close, even if it isn't perfect. For $500 though, you'd hope Sideshow can dial in on the accuracy just a bit more before the final release.

The Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Wonder Woman Premium Format Figure is available for pre-order now for $499.99, and is expected to arrive in Q4 2017.
