So a Singapore couple, who are Christian, were just found guilty of sedition in Singapore's very first sedition trial, not for talking smack about their government, but for giving out Jack Chick tracts.

If you don't know who Jack Chick is, the shortest version is that he's a religious nut so crazy that I have heard his name used as an actual adjective for crazy.

He likes to make comics that say playing D&D makes you kill yourself for Satan and more relevantly, that Muslims are out to destroy America and corrupt our children's souls. This couple, in their infinite wisdom, sent these strips to a bunch of Muslims. As this Singapore paper explains:

They were convicted of distributing seditious or an undesirable publication, The Little Bride, to two Muslims in October and March 2007; and sending out another seditious booklet, Who is Allah?, to another Muslim in December that year. These two publications had the tendency to to promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between Christians and Muslims.

Admittedly, I can imagine a lot of ill-will coming out of this description of Mohammed:

But hey, it's just another reminder that it's good to be American, where we can be as crazy and "undesirable" as we want in the things we write and draw and read without having to go to jail for it. Unless it violates the PROTECT Act, of course. Oh, and if you're in the mood for a Jack Chick parody, check out this pro-Cthulu tract that has since been sued off its original site.
