‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Adds Hannibal Buress, Abraham Attah

Hey, Spider-Man: Homecoming, how about saving some talent for the rest of the movies? Just last week Sony and Marvel’s joint reboot added Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green (Not Tom Hardy) and Martin Starr to an increasingly fantastic ensemble cast, but they’re not done just yet. Today brings word of two more actors joining the lineup: Comedian and Broad City star Hannibal Buress and Beasts of No Nation breakout star Abraham Attah. Who else is left? If Meryl Streep joins this thing, it’s going to start feeling like Christmas at Oprah’s house.

Per Variety, Buress and Attah have joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker / Spidey following his MCU debut in Civil War. There are no character details for the latest additions to the reboot, which is being helmed by Cop Car director Jon Watts from a screenplay by Vacation scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. This won’t be Attah’s first film with Holland, as the two are set to appear together alongside Keanu Reeves, Anne Hathaway and Daniel Radcliffe in The Modern Ocean, Shane Carruth’s first major studio film.

Marisa Tomei will also return as Aunt May, with Robert Downey Jr. putting in an appearance as Tony Stark / Iron Man. Michael Keaton is playing the primary villain, with Logan Marshall-Green as a supporting antagonist — heavily rumored to be The Vulture and The Tinkerer, respectively. The cast of the reboot also includes Zendaya, The Grand Budapest Hotel’s Tony Revolori, The People v. O.J. Simpson’s Kenneth Choi, Michael Barbieri and Laura Harrier. That’s a wonderfully diverse cast, to say the least.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
