Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can - and apparently, what a spider can do is bust comic book thieving criminals with ease.

The Guardian reports the story of Michael Baulderstone, the 45-year-old owner of Adelaide Comic Center who thwarted a robbery in progress on Free Comic Book Day this past Saturday. According to the report, a would-be shoplifter took the term "Free Comic Book Day" a bit too literally when he tried to sneak an "X-Men" omnibus into his backpack, prompting Baulderstone - dressed to the nines in full Spider-Man regalia - to stop the thief with the aid of some similarly garbed fans.

"We had about 40 people dressed up as their favorite superheroes to celebrate International Free Comic Day, so he didn't have much of a choice but to hand the X-Men omnibus back after a little bit of a scuffle," Baulderstone proudly recalled.
