Moleskine Announces ‘Star Wars’ Journals With Animated Paper Space Battle [Video]

While the crossover contingent of Moleskine users and Star Wars fans is probably vast enough that simply announcing the existence of official crossover journals would be enough to move some serious designer notebooks, the company has gone the extra mile with a stop-motion animated short that depicts a papery space battle between the X-wings and TIE Fighters . It’s fun stuff, even if there’s no paper Porkins to be seen. The journals come in both Empire and Rebellion flavors, the biggest difference being the Empire variety is “ruled” while Rebel journal remains “unruled.” Clever thing or cleverest thing?

Each variety comes in 3.5 x 5.5″ version for $14.99 or a 5 x 8.25″ version for $19.99 and every size comes with a 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope movie poster print. The limited edition journals are currently for sale online, but should be popping up at retail shortly as well.
