A long time ago, an MC far, far away...

The cats at College Humor are at it again, this time lampooning both "Star Wars" and Jay-Z's ode to NYC with their new music video, "Galactic Empire State of Mind." Darth Vader proves that a mechanical respiratory apparatus is no impediment to an unstoppable flow, rhyming through the wires in tribute to the seminal twice-over trilogy.

The video is complete with pop-rocking Stormtroopers, lovely Leia on the backup vocals, and enough perfectly-placed movie clips to make fans forget the word "midichlorians." The scourge of the Rebel Alliance proves to be a mighty wordsmith, giving a pretty comprehensive synopsis of his role in all six "Star Wars" films, while harmoniously riffing on Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind," track. The tune's probably just as catchy as the original Alicia Keys- collabo, and there's something oddly compelling about a guy with an obscured mouth forced to mime along with his rap. Hip hop heads and "Star Wars" fanboys & fangirls alike are going to want to pay attention to this one.

Check out the video after the jump, or Vader will find your lack of faith disturbing.

College Humor has had the geek-beat covered for a while now, most recently popping up on ComicsAlliance for their Bat-Drunk sketch. This also isn't their first foray into the "Star Wars" universe, having explored the paranoia and conspiracy surrounding the fall of the Death Star with their Stormtroopers' 9/11 bit. Still, with top-notch production value and clean execution, "Galactic Empire State of Mind," may have raised the bar.

The Max Rebo Band better update their resume. Unless they want to end up bumming like this guy.
