Rather than debut a TV spot or a new teaser, Warner Bros. has unleashed its first non-trailer promo for Suicide Squad via Instagram — you know, because that’s where all the cool kids are these days, and Suicide Squad is a movie for cool kids who take 800 selfies and have a Hot Topic frequent shopper card and an ironic appreciation of Jared Leto’s Joker sporting a grill. Does David Ayer’s super villain movie have a type? Not really, but it’s fun to guess.

Unfortunately for you, the new Suicide Squad promo is merely a condensed version of the full trailer from a couple of weeks ago. There’s nothing really new in the way of footage, and while it’s a tighter teaser, all that personality (and “Bohemian Rhapsody”) gets lost in digital translation:

Far be it for us to complain about watching another promo for Suicide Squad, though — Ayer’s proclivity for grunge and glitter and guns and sleaze works well on the super villain flick, which looks far more entertaining than Batman v Superman. Even if this movie ends up failing, at least it will fail in the most interesting and eccentric way possible.

The movie stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbage as Killer Croc, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
