‘Supergirl’ Teases Metallo Return, Lex Luthor Armor in New Trailer
Supergirl had already promised the return of one metallic baddie in February’s “Luthors,” but might an armored Lex be far behind? That’s at least partly the insinuation in next weeks’ trailer, as the famous Luthor power armor is teased among other weapons.
Granted, a Lex Luthor appearance is about as likely as Tyler Hoechlin returning as Superman, the first trailer for next week’s “Luthors” teases far more than Frederick Schmidt’s return as Metallo. In addition to Brenda Strong’s appearance as Lillian Luthor, and Katie McGrath’s return as adopted daughter Lena, one shot of an armory reveals among other confiscated items (hey there, Vartox’s axe) the green warsuit commonly worn by Lex Luthor in comics.
Granted, there’s no guarantee anyone ends up wearing the famous battle armor, it might make sense of either Lena or Lillian to adorn the famous suit before Season 2 is out. In the meantime, so reads the “Luthors” synopsis:
After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena’s name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together.
Stay tuned for more on next Monday’s “Luthors,” and more Supergirl Season 2 in the meantime.
