Cubist Superheroes: If Marvel and DC Were Drawn by Picasso

Superheroes have collided with fine art before, notably during this year’s Wolverine Art Appreciation Month, where comics artists created variant covers in the style of famous painters — including Pablo Picasso.

Now the WonderBros gallery “Art That Will Melt Your Face Off” goes a step further, imagining a broad array of other comic book characters through the eyes of Picasso’s Cubist period, where he deconstructed images and put them back together in ways that let the viewer see them from more than one perspective at the same time — often giving them odd angles and asymmetrical eyes.

Check out a few of our favorites from the series, which is currently on display at The Bijou in San Antonio, Texas. (Via Walyou)
