It looks like Joe Kelly, Doug Mahnke and Lee Bermejo's 2001 Action Comics #775 story "What's So Funny About the Truth, Justice and the American Way" still has legs in 2012 as the latest clip from Warner Home Video's upcoming Superman vs. The Elite reintroduces Manchester Black and his team of hellions in animated feature form. What gives the story legs in this new decade exactly? Well, it just so happens that the clip makes you want to see the entire team of self-appointed heroes/psychotic killers/The Authority analogues defeated by the virtuous Man of Steel in both a physical and ideological capacity -- especially Menagerie. Props to director Michael Chang, executive producer Bruce Timm, producer Alan Burnett and everyone else involved in the animated feature for establishing The Elite aren't just the embodiment of comic book nihilism the aughts, but a truly timeless team of jerkwads who deserve all the solar-powered punching and moralizing the Last Son of Krypton can provide. Check out the latest clip from Superman vs. The Elite, plus a few stills, after the jump.
