Here's the only thing you need to know about Riverdale, the new ongoing series from Archie Comics that ties into the CW's truly bonkers television drama of the same name. So you know how every episode of the TV show is named after a movie, like "Touch of Evil" or "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"? It turns out that they're keeping that up for the comic and the two stories that make up this first issue, too. One is called Bloodsport. The other is called Bring It On.

The Holidays are upon as, and the year is basically gone. And as you know by now, that mean that here at ComicsAlliance, we're looking back at the best that comics had to offer in 2016. So here, to give you warm feeling as you head into your holiday weekend, are the best Archie Comics covers of the year.

When Archie #12 hits shelves today, it looks like everyone's relationship is falling apart just on the eve of the Blossoms sweeping in like a hurricane. In other words, it's a bad day to be a teenager in Riverdale, and you can see just how bad with a preview below!

As you may have heard, Archie is relaunching their flagship title in July, bringing an end to what has been the longest continuously published American comic that has never been rebooted, after 666 issues. In addition to a new direction from Mark Waid and Fiona Staples, the relaunch is getting a whole slew of variant covers focusing on the revamped design for everyone's favorite two-timing redheaded high schooler, from artists like J. Scott Campbell, Dean Haspiel, and more. Now we've got seven of those variant covers to reveal, bringing the total number of Archie #1 variants to approximately one hundred million (and all of them awesome). With the end of the New York Comic-Con, convention season has once again come to a close, and that means the end of another round of entries in my ongoing sketchbook.
