Apart from its 100th episode, Arrow Season 5 promises to bring fans to another major milestone for the series; completing the five-year flashback cycle that defined the early days. As such, we can cross one scene off the Season 5 finale next year, as a scene from the pilot will have Oliver in tatters once again.

The CW’s fourway crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow had enough material for five episodes, let alone three, so a few scenes understandably fell by the wayside. Among them, producers reveal two Supergirl-Legends connections we may explore in the future, and a deeper dive into the mysterious Dominators.

On this week’s episode, the alien race known as the Dominators are here! But so are all the other CW heroes! Including Supergirl! “Invasion!” was directed by James Bamford from a script by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Wendy Mericle.

The epic four-way crossover still unfurling on The CW takes up too much space for every supporting character to get their due, though at least one notable Arrow member went missing with nary an explanation. Ahead of next week’s winter finale, bosses explain where Artemis was during the crossover, and what we’ll learn of her relationship with Prometheus to come.

On this week’s episode, part two of a four-part crossover week across DC shows, aliens invade Central City, Flashpoint secrets get revealed, and Barry gets the gang together. “Invasion!” was directed by Dermott Downs from a script by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing.

Apart from the spectacle of uniting The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow under one roof, the first leg of The CW’s “Invasion!” crossover also cemented that Flash and Supergirl don’t share the same POTUS, played on the latter by Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter. They very nearly did, however, as producers explain the cameo was nixed as too confusing to viewers.

As Arrow’s 100th episode and second “Invasion!” crossover leg will attest, Season 5 has put significant effort into developing a new crop of masked vigilantes, good and bad. One in particular has been rumored for the series for some time, as executive producer Marc Guggenheim is still looking to ask “The Question.”

Now that all the extended trailers and sneak peeks are out in the open, we still need Supergirl to kick off the big “Invasion!” crossover this coming Monday. So it is with our first “Medusa” clip, that Thanksgiving dinner gets a very Flash-y entrance at an unexpected moment.
