Finally: The Utter Insanity of 'Batman: Odyssey,' Part 6
This is a post three years in the making. Way back in 2011, David Wolkin and I attempted to deconstruct the madness of Batman: Odyssey, an incomprehensible masterwork by legendary Batman artist (and legendarily terrible Skateman writer) Neal Adams that quickly established itself as the most insane comic we have ever read. When the series was renewed for a glorious second volume, we completed four additional reviews -- but stopped just short of the last two issues. Our recaps were gratifyingly well-received, inspiring fan art, live readings and even cantankerous comments from Neal Adams himself (or so we choose to believe). And for the last three years, people have been tweeting at us, e-mailing us and asking us at conventions when we would finally complete our coverage of Batman: Odyssey. That day is today.

With the release of the new DC Comics solicitations for their October books and products, we've discovered something wonderful among the many relaunched titles and associated merchandise: Confirmation that Batman: Odyssey, the mind-bending, linear narrative-defying, brilliantly insane comic written and illustrated by Neal Adams is going to continue...

Last week, David Wolkin and I posted a deconstruction of Batman: Odyssey by Neal Adams, a comic book that is both near and dear to our hearts, and possibly the most insane thing we have ever read. In the introduction, we jokingly imagined a Neal Adams series called Batman: Hobo, wherein Batman was a homeless tramp, the Batcave was a cardboard box, and Catwoman was just a cat that kept stealing h

Deconstructing the Complete and Utter Insanity of ‘Batman: Odyssey’
With the recent release of Batman: Odyssey #6, we are now exactly halfway into the yearlong tale that we feel comfortable claiming, without hyperbole, is the most insane comic book we have ever read. If there is a comic book equivalent of the hilariously nuts cult film The Room, it is surely Batman: Odyssey, a miniseries illustrated by legendary Batman artist Neal Adams and written by legendarily
