Recently, the subject of rotating art teams in superhero comics reached a tipping point, and people have started to wonder if the concept does more harm than good in the long run. With double-shipping in superhero comics becoming more prevalent and artists’ contributions are becoming seen as interchangeable, it’s important to stop and ask: Are rotating artistic creative teams good for comics in the long-run, or does it start us down a path of recognizing the writer’s contributions as inherently more important to the finished product?

Lego has never been at a shortage of simple and easy sets for its fans to build. Sure the more extravagant pieces get all the attention, but sometimes you just want a budget-friendly little set for your desk to show off your construction skills. This past San Diego Comic-Con saw Lego take that idea even farther, and offer small character building sets in the vein of Funko Pops called Lego Brickheadz. Originally only available as two-packs exclusively at SDCC, the Lego Brickheadz are finally available for the rest of the collecting public. Featuring some of your favorite characters from the Marvel and DC universes, Lego Brickheadz might finally give Funko a run for its money in the emotionless pop culture figure arena.

When Avengers: Age of Ultron premiered, it was the same story over again. Both of these instances prompted the hashtags #WheresGamora and #WheresBlackWidow from fans who were sick of the lack of female representation for kids and adults alike. Kevin Feige, we’re all happy to hear, says that that won’t happen again.
