Black Widow and Cap Fight in Unused ‘Civil War’ Animatic
There are so many Marvel heroes in Captain America: Civil War that it almost feels more like a bridge between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Infinity War than a Cap sequel. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo did a fine job of juggling multiple characters and action set pieces, giving each hero a chance to shine — that was particularly evident in the airport sequence, in which we saw pretty much everyone fighting each other in various combinations. The one combo we didn’t get was Black Widow and Cap, but a new animatic from an unused scene gives you an idea of what that might have been like.

Marvel Is ‘Committing’ to a Black Widow Solo Film, Probably
Earlier this week, a new poll revealed that the MCU character fans most want to see in a standalone film is — unsurprisingly, still — Black Widow. Phase 3 is set to conclude in 2019 with Avengers: Infinity War (which will soon undergo a title change), and the only film Kevin Feige has confirmed for Phase 4 so far is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (which may or may not be directed by James Gunn). And although he doesn’t 100-percent-confirm it here, Feige presents a Black Widow solo movie as a very real possibility for Phase 4.

Marvel Fans Still Want a Black Widow Solo Movie
Of the original Avengers cast, only Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow haven’t starred in their own solo movies. While audiences only really warmed up to Hawkeye thanks to his arc in Age of Ultron, fans have been enamored with Black Widow since she made her debut in the otherwise-underwhelming Iron Man 2. There’s been talk off and on over the last few years about a Black Widow solo movie, and just in case the people in suits over at Marvel are wondering: yes, audiences still very much want to see it.

Black Widow's New Hot Toys Figure Brings Another Insect Friend
If you feel like nearly every other character from Captain America: Civil War had his figure announced before Black Widow, you're like 99% right. Besides the teased Scarlet Witch and Crossbones, and potential figures for Agent 13, Spider-Man and Baron Zemo, there aren't many characters from the upcoming Marvel movie that haven't gotten their moments in the pre-ordering sun. But that's okay. I always knew the Black Widow was coming from Hot Toys. The company has never not released a Natasha figure since she first appeared in Iron Man 2. Though they haven't always been noteworthy figures, Hot Toys is nothing but consistent in its treatment of Black Widow. That's more than you can say about a number of its competitors.

Figuarts Age of Ultron Black Widow Finally Arrives
After 65 movies, Black Widow is finally getting her own SH Figuarts figure. Tamashii Nations has been teasing the addition of the SHIELD super-spy for some time now, but with the coming and going of Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters and home video, it seemed like the best shot she had was with the upcoming Captain America: Civil War line. Fear not though, as the version from last year's big Marvel mash-up will get her due overseas this summer. That should put her on pace to arrive in the states just in time for the Blu-ray release of Civil War. Progress. To be honest, this figure actually looks like the wait may have been worth it. It's highly articulated, and actually looks something like Scarlett Johansson. That's more than we can say for the "Chris Evans" Captain America SH Figuarts has on deck for this year. There's a lot of great detail in the costuming, too, which is to be expected from Tamashii's offerings. Nothing against Hasbro's budget-friendly and hard-to-find Marvel Legends AOU Black Widow, but this figure might be the definitive 6" version of Natasha Romanova.
