Best Art Ever (This Week)
We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great images on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we've created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it's new, some of it's old, some of it's created by working professionals, some of it's created by future stars, some of it's created by talented fans, and some of it's endearingly silly. All of it's awesome.

All of it's awesome. In honor of this year's 75th anniversary of the first appearance of Superman and this weekend's release of Man of Steel, we present for the second time a compilation of some of the coolest portraits of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's brilliant creation that we've highlighted in this feature over the last few years. We know it's cheating but we didn't count on going away for a month and then coming back in the middle of a big media event. All-new next week evermore.

Bruce Timm Releases The Reins Of Warner Bros. Animation’s ‘DC Universe’ Features
Bruce Timm, the Warner Bros. Animation legend who has been the guiding force behind nearly every DC Comics-based series and movie since co-founding what would become an animation powerhouse with Batman: The Animated Series nearly 20 years ago, is stepping down from his position as Supervising Producer to work on projects of his own, according to Voices From Krypton...

New Digital-First Superman Series to Feature Timm, Hitch, Samnee, Sprouse and More with Out-of-Continuity Adventures
Great news from DC Comics: the publisher has announced Adventures of Superman, a new digital-first series that's the sort of thing we've been eager to see for years. Launching in April, the title will give a number of writers and artists a place to tell stories of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Man of Steel unrestrained by the continuity and aesthetics of the main New 52 line...

‘The Art of Betty and Veronica’ Takes a Historical View of Comics’ Frenemy Fashionistas
It's an age old question...or, at least, a 70-year-old question: Betty or Veronica? The two female points of the love triangle at the very center of publisher Archie Comics have always formed a sort of either/or dichotomy for those male readers envious of Archie Andrews' predicament, being seemingly forced to choose between two ideal girlfriends of opposite natures...

Dynamite Says Happy Halloween With Complete Vampirella Short Story By Bruce Timm & Ty Templeton [Exclusive]
If it was traditional to give gifts on Halloween, one item near the top of my wish list would be The Art of Vampirella. Published by Dynamite Entertainment (the outfit also responsible for the great Howard Chaykin art book, among others), The Art of Vampirella compiles in a high quality hardcover volume visions of the enduringly popular, titillating horror comics icon from such auspicious pin-up a

Parting Thought: Jack Kirby Tribute From ‘Superman: The Animated Series’ [Video]
Today is what would have been Jack Kirby's 95th birthday, and our tributes to the creator of such comics as New Gods, Fantastic Four, Avengers and X-Men have dealt explicitly with his fascination with the beyond. David Brothers took a close look at the cosmology of Kirby's Fourth World, and David Wolkin gave a theologic reading to Kirby's more personal visual interpretations of God...
