Lots of news from the Marvel Cinematic Universe today as directors Joe and Anthony Russo make the rounds to promote Captain America: Civil War. As you might expect, the Russos are already looking ahead to Avengers: Infinity War, and they just basically confirmed a bit of casting news that’s pretty exciting — especially for all those fans who keep asking James Gunn when we’ll see the Guardians of the Galaxy crossover with the rest of the MCU.

James Gunn has made it clear that he’s no longer responding to rumors regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so don’t expect the director to confirm or deny the latest report, which may reveal the names of three new characters. Take it with the usual grain of salt, but given how wild and weird the Guardians corner of the Marvel universe is, these names all sound fairly plausible.

James Gunn isn’t sure if he wants to return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but for the time being he’s focusing on the present — working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Marvel’s sequel will introduce us to Peter Quill’s long-lost father, teased in the first film with a vague hint about his space-dwelling parentage. Gunn remains tight-lipped about the character’s identity, but he has offered a new storyboard image for you to agonize over like a game of Marvel Pictionary.

When Chris Pratt was cast as Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, in Guardians of the Galaxy, he was seen by many as an unconventional pick for a universe-saving superhero. However, Pratt proved that he’s got what it takes to save the world, and now he’s calling on you to step up and make the world a better place, and in return you get a chance to visit the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set!

Filming on Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 is set to begin next month, but star Chris Pratt is already getting himself ready for his return to space. The actor, already in Atlanta where the film is being shot, took a photo of himself in costume, listening to “Awesome Mix, Vol. 2" on his walkman and posted a message for all the Marvel fans out there promising Guardians 2 would be the “greatest spectacle film of all time.”

Over the last few days, James Gunn has been sharing some photos from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast rehearsals, featuring a very grumpy Michael Rooker and a cast of total screw-ups who have to learn a thing or two from Dave Bautista. We still have a while to wait before we see the cast back in costume as the unlikely group of heroes, but these rehearsal photos make that wait a little easier.

Chris Pratt is at it again. The actor is not only known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, but for often using his fame for a good cause by visiting children’s hospitals. Earlier this year, Pratt donned his Star-Lord costume to visit some special friends, and this time he’s back with a very adorable little friend: Baby Groot.

After Matthew McConaughey reportedly turned down a major role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Marvel and director James Gunn went back to the drawing board, looking to attract a big star for the upcoming sequel. It turns out they may have found their man. The Hateful Eight star Kurt Russell is Marvel’s choice to join the film in the very critical role of Peter Quill’s father.

Last week Jurassic World opened, setting a global record with it’s $511 million dollar debut, which is the first time a film has ever pulled in more than $500 million in an opening weekend. But even before fans were flocking to theaters to see the 4th film in the franchise, they were busy creating art—mostly devoted to Chris Pratt and his gaggle of raptors.

Now here are some true heroes in action. Chris Evans won his Super Bowl bet with Chris Pratt last month, resulting in Pratt paying a visit to a children’s hospital dressed as Star-Lord. Be that as it may, Evans still decided to don his Captain America costume and visit a children’s hospital, too. That’s just the Captain America way.
