As much as I loved the Batman: The Animated Series figures that I had when I was a kid (shout out to Combat Belt Batman), the one thing that always bugged me about them was the lack of articulation. Even if you're really, really into seeing Batman just stiff-legged Yakuza kick the Joker, which I am, five joints do not make for a lot of fun times.
Now, though, my childhood dreams have once again come true with the new DC Collectibles line of B:TAS figures, which are rocking some awesome, DC Universe Classics-esque articulation and beautiful designs by Bruce Timm. Wave 1's Batman and Catwoman have already been announced, but today, we've got a look at the second wave, featuring Robin, The Joker and Poison Ivy, plus painted versions of wave 1's Mr. Freeze and Two-Face.

Statue collectors and Justice League Dark fans have a lot to look forward to judging from DC Collectibles' July solicitation information. A number of new statues from the "Icons," "Cover Girls," "Patina" and other lines are due out this September and October, along with New 52 action figures of Constantine and Zatanna. Those seeking something a little softer than metal, resin and plastic will also finally be able to get their hands on the DC Nation Deadman and Crow plush two-pack, which was initially slated for an earlier release but was pushed closer to Halloween.

Batman may be the one turning 75 this year, but DC Collectibles' recent celebratory release schedule was big on the Clown Prince of Crime. Topping off the some 50 pieces of Batmerch coming from the company between now and the fall will be a Batman Black and White: The Joker by Dick Sprang statue. Though the posted prototype photo recreates Sprang's simulteaneously rubbery and wizened version of the Joker as was seen in his many decades drawing Batman in periodical comics as well as the newspaper strip, it's also a dead-ringer for the villain taking a moment in front of a mirror to take a selfie. Truly fiendish!
Tapping into the popular DC Bombshells statues line from DC Collectibles, QMx has released a set of prints of Ant Lucia's conceptual artwork featuring DC's favorite heroines and villainesses in the style of mid-century pin-ups. Lucia channels Alberto Vargas’ trademark pin-up style while capturing the strength and beauty of the likes of Wonder Woman, Catwoman, et al; and the result is a fun, sexy, and chic makeover of DC’s finest. This artwork will be also used for DC Bombshell-themed variant covers for DC's current series in June 2014.
DC Collectibles will double the size of its 6" Batman: The Animated Series action figure this November as 1997 The New Batman Adventures versions of Two-Face and Mr. Freeze join quarter three releases TNBA Batman and B:TAS Catwoman. Fully painted figure prototypes aren't ready to view just yet, but DCC is teasing the figures with unpainted sculpt images that show off each toy's articulation and more. Take a look below.
