While domestic critics and international audiences have already been treated to their first screenings of Doctor Strange, many of us  —  myself included  —  are still waiting for our chance to see the movie in theaters. That means we’re still glued to our computer screens for every new photo, video, or audio clip that comes to mind. And that means we get excited over the silliest things. I mean, did you listen to that track from the Doctor Strange score? That theme song is amazing!

For our latest fantasy draft, in honor of Doctor Strange, our writers must compete to put together the best superhero teams made up entirely of Marvel magical characters, featuring one occultist, one demon, one vampire, one undead character, and one were-monster. In day two of the draft, Tara Marie added Pixie and Carnage to the team of Sera, Jubilee, and FrankenCastle; Steve added Dead Girl and Mephisto to the team of Spitfire, Nico Minoru, and Robbie Reyes; Kieran added Doctor Doom and Throg to the team of Dracula, Elsa Bloodstone, and Captain Britain; Andrew added Satana Hellstrom and Jericho Drumm to the team of Agatha Harkness, Billy Kaplan, and Cullen Bloodstone; and Elle added Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch to the team of Magik, Blade, and Zombie. With two picks left apiece, it's time to round out the teams and see which one comes out on top.

Doctor Strange hits theaters next week, introducing Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — along with some mysticism and a handful of otherworldly dimensions (and their threats). Ahead of the film’s release date, we learned that Cumberbatch will reprise his role for Avengers: Infinity War, and according to the actor, he might just be the thing that helps get the team back together following the events of Civil War.

With Marvel's latest movie blockbuster Doctor Strange opening in theaters this coming week, this is the perfect time to explore the weirdness and wonder of the mystical corners of the Marvel Universe. It’s almost impossible for filmmakers and executives to discuss sequel ideas without name-dropping Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (the same goes for discussing reboots / origin stories without citing Batman Begins). Such is the case with director Scott Derrickson, who was recently asked about his ideas for a potential sequel to Doctor Strange. Unsurprisingly, he referenced The Dark Knight — though not entirely without merit.

The most common knock against Marvel’s cinematic universe: All their movies look the same. In a mega-franchise spanning 14 films and counting, that look can get pretty stale. For the most part, these movies about bravery are pretty timid when it comes to visual storytelling.

We’ve known for about a month that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange would be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, but with little else to go on, the size and scope of Strange’s appearance were left to speculation. Now it appears that a second character from Doctor Strange has found their way into the cast as well, increasing the likelihood that Doctor Strange will stick around for more than just a Wolverine-esque cameo.

The Doctor Strange trailer debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in April, so it’s only fitting the late-night host would get more exclusive access to the latest Marvel hero. And by “exclusive,” we don’t exactly mean “hire the Sorcerer Supreme for children’s birthday parties,” but well, here we are.

I just had a lovely conversation with Tilda Swinton about Doctor Strange, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, of all things, her love of Talladega Nights. We’ll bring you the full conversation a little bit closer to Doctor Strange’s release date. But in the meantime, here is one interesting tidbit: Tilda Swinton wants to make a spinoff Strange film about her character, the Ancient One, the immortal teacher and master of the mystical arts who teaches Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange the ways of magic.
