Quick: What is objectively the greatest piece of instrumental music ever composed? Got it? Okay, well, if you said anything other than Yoshihiro Sakaguchi's "The Moon" from the DuckTales video game for NES, then I am sorry to inform you that you are wrong. Compared to that 96-second loop, Mozart is basically a garbage fire.
And today, we have an occasion to blast that chiptune perfection in celebration: On April 8, 2017, Capcom will be releasing The Disney Afternoon collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam, including HD optimized versions of the 8-bit DuckTales, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, and TaleSpin games, along with a bunch of bonus features.
If the headline alone didn’t get that famous DuckTales theme in your head, Disney XD has plan to make sure it stays there. Not only do we have our first trailer for the star-studded reboot, but also word that Season 2 has already been greenlit.
DuckTales fans probably think about that iconic theme more-so than anyone notable names among the original cast, but the 2017 Disney XD reboot has you covered either way. Not only is David Tennant our new Scrooge McDuck, but so too do SNL and NBC stars debut in a new video singing that famous theme!
If you thought Disney XD’s DuckTales reboot was steeped in nostalgia before, wait until you hear that familiar theme music once again. The new adventures of Huey, Dewey and Louie have officially claimed a summer 2017 premiere, outlined in a gold-diving teaser.
It isn’t outside the realm of possibility for Disney to keep a hidden vault of Scrooge McDuck-like proportions, open for (very painful) swimming at a moment’s notice. If not, the new DuckTales reboot might at least make enough for one, judging by Disney’s plan to merchandise the new series.
Everyone loves trivia about their favorite animated features and series, but with over 100 years of animation history behind us right now, there’s always some new obscure fact to learn. That’s why ComicsAlliance is going deep into the minutiae of your favorite names in cartoons in this continuing video series. You think you know cartoons? Well, here’s a few things you might not know!
This week we're taking a look at Disney's beloved animated series that might solve a mystery or rewrite history, DuckTales!
Welcome to Cast Party, the feature that imagines a world with even more live action comic book adaptations than we currently have, and comes up with arguably the best casting suggestions you’re ever going to find for the movies and shows we wish could exist. This week we're doing one that's been in the back of my mind for a while: A Disney Uncle Scrooge movie.
This movie will of course be an epic, globe-trotting adventure for the whole family. It'll be based primarily on the comics by Carl Barks and Don Rosa, but I've incorporated elements and characters from the classic Ducktales TV series, mostly because they already solved some of the problems of adaptation. Uncle Scrooge himself would be the first to point out that it's wasteful to reinvent the wheel.
Life is like a hurricane, with all these reboots and revivals coming at us. It's a duck-blur. But today on Twitter, Disney got everyone's attention by releasing the first promotional image from the new incarnation of Ducktales, which arrives on Disney XD in 2017. The image was first tweeted from the Twitter account of Disney D23, the official Disney fan club, and was then shared by other official Disney sources.
DuckTales is coming back with even more tales of daring do, bad and good luck tales as Disney XD announced that they're bringing back the 80s cartoon with a new animated series set to launch in 2017. Uncle Scrooge, Huey, Dewey and Louie will all be return and they just might solve a mystery. Or rewrite history!
It looks like Capcom's recently released DuckTales Remastered isn't the only game in town when it comes to adventuring with Uncle Scrooge and Launchpad. Disney has rolled out an all-new and all-different kind of game featuring Duckburg's wealthiest resident called DuckTales: Scrooge's Loot on iOS and Android. Unlike the DuckTales games on NES and Game Boy and the new DTR, Scrooge's Loot isn't a sidescrolling adventure title, but rather a 3D multiplayer battle game complete with feathered customizable characters. Considering this is a game starring the miserly McDuck, it's also a bit surprising to find out the mobile title is free.
