Archie Announces Return Of 'Afterlife', 'Chilling Adventures'
If you're a fan of Archie's horror titles, then you've probably noticed that they haven't been around much lately. Despite critical acclaim and a new wave of interest from readers for the story of Riverdale's favorite teens making their way through the zombie apocalypse and everyone's favorite Teenage Witch recast as the heroine of a Lovecraftian horror story, 2015 only saw three issues of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina --- and only one of Afterlife With Archie. Now, though, it seems that our national nightmare is about to return. Today, Archie released their solicitations for May, promising the return of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack's Sabrina, followed shortly by Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla's Afterlife With Archie, staggering back from the grave on June 1.

Mondo Taps Cloonan, Taylor, Whalen and More For Marvel Gallery Show
This December, Mondo plans on going out in style... Marvel House Style that is. On Dec. 11, the Mondo Gallery in Austin, TX will kick of a nine-day exhibit focused exclusively on Marvel called “Snikt. Bamf. Thwip: A Celebration of Marvel Comics.” It's the final gallery show of the 2015 calendar year for Mondo, and it will feature more than a dozen different artists from the Mondo family contributing works celebrating more than 75 years of Marvel's comic and cinematic history. We've got the details on which artists will be presenting original works, when you'll be able to see them, and we've got an exclusive first look at Matt Taylor's Thor and Loki pieces making their debut at the show next month.

MondoCon Reveals New Batman, Adventure Time Statues and More
This past weekend, you may have been lucky enough to find yourself in Austin, TX to attend the second annual MondoCon. If you weren't (like me), you apparently missed out on a whole mess of cool announcements (like me). In addition to the requisite vinyl and print teases for upcoming releases, Mondo also hinted at the future of its collectibles line. We already knew licenses like He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Madballs would be on hand, but Mondo's creative director of toys and collectibles Brett Otterbacher had a few surprises for those in attendance, too. According to a recap in the Austin Chronicle, Mondo will be crafting statues based on two different DC Comics prints that have already been released. First, a cast version of Francesco Francavilla's "Red Rain" print will be coming soon. Like the Godzilla statue based on the work of Phantom City Creative, the Batman-as-Dracula piece will be stylized as a 3D recreation of Francavilla's scrawny, bony, fang-bearing art. There will also be a Harley Quinn statue based on the 2014 SDCC-exclusive print from Matt Taylor (above). How this Harley will be translated to a statue remains to be seen, as this piece is just as much about her room as it is her. It will be interesting to see which elements make the leap to physical form when the statue begins development.

IDW Celebrates 75 Years Of Archie With Crossover Covers
If there's one thing we have learned throughout the history of comics, it's that if you joke about something ridiculous long enough, then eventually, it's probably going to happen. Which, I imagine, is how we got the upcoming variant cover for IDW's Judge Dredd where the stone-faced lawman of the future finally meets Archie Andrews. Okay, okay, so right now, it's only a variant cover as part of IDW's upcoming celebration of Archie's 75th Anniversary, which will see a pretty amazing set of covers where IDW's various titles --- including Transformers, Jem and the Holograms and Star Trek --- meet up with Riverdale's favorite teens. Check them out below!

This week's rumors that Selma director Ava DuVernay had signed on to direct a Black Panther movie were a bit premature (though talks apparently continue), but the excitement that surrounded the news confirmed one thing: People really want to see Wakandan King T'Challa on the big screen, and they want to see him done right. Here's some of the best art featuring T'Challa from the past five decades, from Kirby, Denys Cowan and John Buscema, to Francesco Francavilla, Olivier Coipel, and the best fan art around.

Riverdale Goes Full Shining In 'Afterlife With Archie' #8
A while back, the first issue of the newly relaunched The Black Hood made headlines pretty much everywhere --- including here at ComicsAlliance --- for being the first Archie Comics book to ever drop the f-bomb. Truly, it is a momentous occasion, but it seems that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla will not be outdone, because next week's Afterlife With Archie #8 is almost certainly the first Archie comic to ever use the word "twincest-y."

Created in 1964 by Bill Everett and Stan Lee --- with substantial input from Jack Kirby and Wally Wood --- Daredevil has been brought to life on the page by an extraordinary roster of comics greats, including Gene Colan, David Mazzucchelli, Frank Miller, Alex Maleev, and, in recent years, Chris Samnee, Paolo Rivera, and Marcos Martin. The striking red suit that he's worn since his seventh appearance is one of the best costumes in comics, and creates an irresistible contrast against the grime of Hell's Kitchen. For this special gallery, we've picked out some of our favorite Daredevil pin-ups and images to pay tribute to ol' hornhead.

Best Art Ever (This Week) - 03.20.2015
We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, as well as the special qualities of comic book storytelling, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great pinups, fan art and other illustrations on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we’ve created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it’s new, some of it’s old, some of it’s created by working professionals, some of it’s created by future stars, some of it’s created by talented fans, and some of it’s endearingly silly. All of it is awesome.
