We were fortunate enough to be on hand at Comic-Con 2015 to catch Marvel’s animated Guardians of the Galaxy premiere, but now it seems the Disney XD series will fill in backstory even the movie skipped over. This week's Ani-Com and Games Hong Kong event is barely underway, but Hot Toys has already announced a handful of new and eagerly awaited figures in its sixth-scale Marvel line. The company's had an incredibly busy year with both the Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe making up the bulk of Hot Toys' new figures. While the majority of the Avengers: Age of Ultron cast has already been shown numerous times, the ACGHK marked the debut of Quicksilver, and for the first time, an all-new Nick Fury based on his appearance in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Neither of those reveals was as important however as the update to Guardians of the Galaxy's Drax the Destroyer. Drax has been MIA from any official release schedules, unlike the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. As the last member of the crew to be formally announced, fans had been plastering Hot Toys' social media pages with pictures of an earlier prototype, hoping against hope that eventually Hot Toys would actually have news on the character's figure instead of another new Iron Man armor to hype. Today, those dreams came true.

We were on hand at Comic-Con 2015 for an advance look at Marvel’s new Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, but don’t feel bad for missing out. Well, don’t feel good either, but feel a little bit of both with our first look at a new trailer promo for Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot and all the rest’s continued adventures.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy may have a new volume of cinematic adventures in their future, but we’ll see Star-Lord and co. much sooner than that in animated form. Now primed for a September premiere, Disney XD’s animated Guardians have a brand-new poster, full roster of premiere dates, and a new tricked-out synopsis with some of the Marvel universe’s biggest names!

When Marvel announced a release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 before the first one was even released, everyone thought Marvel was overestimating their strange space opera. And then it made a bajillion dollars and everyone on the internet felt like a fool. Now, the title for that sequel has been revealed and while it doesn’t bring any grand revelation with it, it’ll probably get you to crack a tiny smile.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 isn’t hitting theaters until 2017, but that hasn’t kept fans from speculating about what — and who — we can expect to see in the sequel. Per his last update, James Gunn was working on completing the script based on his finished outline, and he had also previously hinted that this is a film about fathers. Gunn is doubling down on the dad stuff in his latest interview, while revealing a little bit more of what we can expect from Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

One of the quirkier aspects of Guardians of the Galaxy was Benicio Del Toro’s role as Taneleer Tivan, aka The Collector, a delightful eccentric who spends his time collecting various artifacts and life forms. With James Gunn hard at work completing the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 script, we’ve been wondering who will — and won’t — return for the sequel. According to Del Toro, it might not happen, but he may return to the MCU again pretty soon.
