Everyone loves Harley Quinn. Honestly. Try to find me someone who’s even passingly familiar with her that doesn’t think she’s a great character. There’s just no two ways about it, tip to toe, Harley Quinn is a character people love. In fact, she’s several characters people love, because every new iteration of her that comes along immediately finds a fanbase that’s as devoted to her as she is to the Joker or Poison Ivy (depending on what you’re reading/watching/shipping). Whether it be the original version from Batman: The Animated Series, the more extreme version of the New 52 (or the later, slightly more traditional version from the New 52), the “edgy” version from the Arkham Asylum series of Batman video games, or even the version from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. The art we’ve collected here stands as proof that Harley fans are ready to show their love by spending their precious time making endless artistic examples of their devotion.

This week’s Harley Quinn & The Suicide Squad April Fools' Special #1 by Rob Williams, Jim Lee and Sean “Cheeks” Galloway was a fun, cameo-laden romp that saw Harley return to her roots as a psychiatrist for the criminally insane and try to cure the likes of Man-Bat, Killer Moth and Scarecrow. However, the one-shot also served as a jumping off point for one of the biggest books of DC Rebirth with a surprise cliffhanger that saw a classic DC character looking a lot more like their Pre-Flashpoint self. The issue is drawn mostly by Jim Lee, but during the psychiatry segments the art duties are handed over to Sean Galloway whose trademark cartoon style is a stark-contrast to the cross-hatching and gritted teeth of Lee, but it works surprisingly well. Over the course of the issue, Harley ends up in a fight with the Justice League, in a sequence drawn by Lee, and comes to the conclusion that the superheroes are the real bad guys, and that’s when the reveal kicks in.

The event was introduced by DC All Access host Tiffany Smith, with DC co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio and chief creative officer and Rebirth chief architect Geoff Johns introducing and interviewing the creative teams as they joined them on stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Harley Gets A 'Cinematic' Makeover In 'Harley Quinn' #26
There have been rumblings that DC Comics would be subtly nudging the look of its comic books to more closely match the films and TV shows they have in production, and in this week’s Harley Quinn #26, we may have got our first look at what that means. The latest issue, by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, John Timms, Chad Hardin, Hi-Fi and Tom Napolitano, sees Harley and her friends returning to Coney Island after their most recent adventure in Gotham, and what better way to symbolize a new start than with a new movie-friendly makeover?

Though the film doesn’t open in theaters until later this summer, Margot Robbie’s look as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad already seems destined to become a fan favorite. Harley Quinn was always a favorite among cosplayers, but the new look with the rainbow dipped hair, colorful makeup and punk attire has inspired a new wave of fans (whereas the jury is still out on Jared Leto’s look as The Joker). But, it almost wasn’t that way. Robbie says they tried “many variations” of the costume, including the classic court jester costume from Batman: The Animated Series.

FOX’s Gotham may have beefed up its Bat-cred to introduce Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze, but may always have something of grey (er, green) area when it comes to proto-Jokers. We’ve seen one laughed off already, but new photos from an upcoming hour feature Orange is the New Black star Lori Petty looking an awful lot like the Clown Prince of Crime. Harley too!

To this point, DC Collectibles has been reticent to deliver action figures based on the movie properties Warner Bros. produces based on the DC Comics library. There have been statues and replicas galore, but few actual action figures from DC's in-house collectibles team have been of the cinematic oeuvre. With the DC Cinematic Universe kicking into high gear this year, it's time for the DC Films Premium line to make its debut. The first figures for the line will include a mash-up of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice characters, all set to arrive in September. Armored Batman and Superman will represent BVS, with Zod, Faora and Jor-El coming from MoS. Now, I know there probably weren't too many people banging at the gates, begging for more Russel Crowe Jor-El figures, but at least his Kryptonian armor makes him a bit more interesting than any potential Kevin Costner Pa Kent would ever be. That's not a big factor in Jor-El's favor, but the guy's gotta take pluses where he can.
