To this point, DC Collectibles has been reticent to deliver action figures based on the movie properties Warner Bros. produces based on the DC Comics library. There have been statues and replicas galore, but few actual action figures from DC's in-house collectibles team have been of the cinematic oeuvre. With the DC Cinematic Universe kicking into high gear this year, it's time for the DC Films Premium line to make its debut. The first figures for the line will include a mash-up of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice characters, all set to arrive in September. Armored Batman and Superman will represent BVS, with Zod, Faora and Jor-El coming from MoS. Now, I know there probably weren't too many people banging at the gates, begging for more Russel Crowe Jor-El figures, but at least his Kryptonian armor makes him a bit more interesting than any potential Kevin Costner Pa Kent would ever be. That's not a big factor in Jor-El's favor, but the guy's gotta take pluses where he can.

This train has left the station at warp speed and will continue to run until it reaches the far end of the cosmos, and even alien races are converted to the Church of Quinn. Since spinning off on her own in the rebooted DC Universe, Harley's been an unstoppable juggernaut. Though she's been getting action figures fairly regularly, Harley's never been the star of her own toy line. That ends this October. DC Collectibles announced the new Harley Quinn toy line ahead of Toy Fair (via Vulture), and gave a glimpse into the first wave of figures you can expect this fall. The line features designs from current Harley Quinn writer and cover artist Amanda Connor, with several of the figures paying tribute to looks Ms. Quinn has donned in her solo series. It's almost like DC is banking on Harley Quinn blowing up even more after her appearance in Suicide Squad this August. I'm not even sure it's possible for the villain-turned-hero-turned-not-quite-so-good-but-also-not-a-bad-person to get more popular, but hey, it's Harley's world, we just live in it.

Do you really like the Batman: Arkham game series? Do you have a lot of expendable income? Are the various mantels above the many fireplaces in your palatial estate sorely lacking for decoration? Prime 1 Studio just might be the "interior designer" you've been looking for. To this point, the Japanese company has released a handful of Batman: Arkham statues and busts, fleshing out the roster of heroes and villains lucky enough to get the Prime 1 treatment. Okay, mostly it's just been Batman, but there's also an Arkham Knight and a Deathstroke, too. Today, the high-end collectible-maker expanded its catalog to include the one and only mistress of mayhem herself, Harley Quinn. Based on her appearance in Batman: Arkham Knight, the new Harley Quinn statue packs a lot of Gothic Lolita gangster moll into just 29 inches. Though the Arkham versions of Harley Quinn have been hit or miss in their design, this incarnation is actually one of the better looks the character's seen. Regardless of your opinion of the costuming, you can't deny how well Prime 1's brought the look and character to life. There's even a bit of mixed-media with her ruffled skirt to make sure it's got the right look. A sculpted version of that portion of the dress would have ended up looking like a lumpy mess, as many of the smaller-scale action figures of Harley from this game can attest.

GLAAD, the advocacy group that monitors lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender representation in the media, has announced the 2016 nominees for its annual Media Awards celebrating positive LGBT representation, including five comic book series that provided outstanding examples of fair, inclusive, original and impactful LGBT characters in 2015. Four publishers are recognized this year; DC leads with two nominees, Harley Quinn and Midnighter. Marvel's sole nominee is Angela, Queen of Hel, while Boom's Lumberjanes and Image's The Wicked And The Divine complete the list. For the first time, the GLAAD website lists the artists for the books rather than just crediting the writers.

For the past few months, DC Collectibles has been hinting at a series of statues based on the Suicide Squad coming out later this summer. However, the solicitations from DC Comics' toy and statue department have been absent any actual pictures of the inmates from Belle Reve that sign up for a mission that may very well kill them. With the release of the new trailer however, the floodgates have opened, and DC's finally given the Suicide Squad their due. Six of the Suicide Squad's members will be getting high-end statues from DC Collectibles, all of which were revealed for the first time by USA Today. All feature actor likenesses and the costumes they don during what I'm assuming is the latter half of the film after all their origins are divulged, they have a big training sequence, and they band together to take on the massive, mysterious threat Amanda Waller throws them up against.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten.
